Equality and Diversity policy – 13th November 2017<\/b><\/em><\/p>\n

W&D Scope opposes discrimination of all forms, whether or not barred by legislation and seeks to ensure that equality of opportunity and recognition of the value of diversity are reflected in all its activities. <\/span><\/p>\n

3. Equality and Diversity policy<\/b><\/em><\/p>\n

3.1<\/strong> This policy aims to ensure that W&D Scope creates equal opportunities for all members and potential members of W&D Scope, its executive committee <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>and users of its services and organisations with which it works. <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

No one should be disadvantaged on grounds of age, disability, ethnicity, faith, gender reassignment, marriage & civil partnership, maternity and pregnancy, sex (gender) or sexual orientation. Its success will depend on everyone having a full understanding of equal opportunities and co operating in the policy\u2019s implementation.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

3.2<\/strong> W&D Scope acknowledges the diverse range of people in Winchester District and will take steps to ensure that this diversity is reflected in the following ways:<\/p>\n

a) W&D Scope\u2019s executive committee will seek to ensure that members of the committee reflect the diversity of the district\u2019s population and the wide range of agencies that work in the voluntary sector.<\/p>\n

b) All organisations with which W&D Scope works are expected to have an equal opportunities and diversity policy. W&D Scope\u2019s equality and diversity policy will be available on request to other organisations in the district. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

3.3<\/strong> We recognise our responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010 and are committed to meeting them (see Appendix 1).<\/span><\/p>\n

Appendix 1<\/b><\/p>\n

The Equality Act 2010<\/a> legally protects people from discrimination in the workplace and in wider society.<\/span><\/p>\n

It replaced previous anti-discrimination laws with a single Act, making the law easier to understand and strengthening protection in some situations. It sets out the different ways in which it\u2019s unlawful to treat someone.<\/span><\/p>\n
