Cream Tea & AGM – 12 September 2015
“The St Barnabas Church Hall was ideal for this year’s AGM. Although we would have liked to have seen more General Members, it was nevertheless an enjoyable day. Our Cream Tea was as popular as ever thanks to our gallant cake making volunteer Helen Stevens – her scones, cupcakes and chocolate brownies were enjoyed by us all.
The discussion held on our revamped website was fruitful and we hope will mean we have a much improved website when we complete the work of transferring these ideas to our web. A vote of thanks was given to Peter Dudley for the length of time spent on helping us to update our website.View Post
Votes of thanks also went to Liz Dudley who was standing down as Chairman and to Karen Millachip who resigned as Hon. Treasurer. We thanked Gill Young for taking on the job of Chairman and welcomed Charlotte Smallman as our new Hon. Treasurer with Cheryl Honeycombe our Vice-Chairman. We had to say goodbye to Jez Holder but welcomed Joyce Brashaw as a new Executive Member. Shirley Kenneally remains as Hon. Secretary and the following Executive Members were returned en bloc: Trudie Christmas, Sarah Dearing, Liz Dudley, Helen Rich, Joanne Syvret and Nicki Wade. Finally, thanks to Adrian Reeves as Examiner of our Accounts.
Our Annual Report in its new format was approved. Requests for funding continue to be received and a successful fundraising Car Boot Sale in August has helped . The generous donation in lieu of wedding presents from a well-wisher was a superb surprise as was the kind thoughts in bequesting his stamp collection to us and two other charities in his Will.
