AGMs & Tea & Cakes

Tea & cakes  with our AGM  are popular,  attracting more parents and interested people than the usual AGM.  We had for years met in differing venues :- Greenacres School, Lanterns and Littleton Memorial Hall and a couple of times at the fully accessible home of Nicki Wade, a long standing Executive Member,  where we were able to welcome parents who had been helped by us but St Barnabas Church at Weeke enables more to attend.

Each year speakers had been invited to talk on various topics such as Face to Face – Befrienders Scheme run by KIDS and Race Runners” .

Last year our AGM at  St. Barnabas Church was a great success-“Celebrating Achievements”   proved a popular topic.  Beforehand we received articles & photos from adults and families with cerebral palsy that provided an interesting and inspiring display.   More arrived on the day listing the achievements of an artist, a poet and his London trip, 2 young men’s photos illustrating their successes, and one little lad with photos of himself holding the gold badge of an international swimmer  and brilliant photos of 2  older women well known to us having great fun at the seaside.

Everyone enjoyed the excellent cakes with plenty of tea & coffee in a friendly  atmosphere  and the children’s playroom meant they too could also have fun.  You can find out more in this report.
