 Race Runners – a future paralympic sport? We were delighted that thanks to Physiotherapist Clair Padgham and her talk about her hopes and plans for Race Runners at our AGM, we attracted more parents and families this year. After the first bout of tea and cakes her video showed just how disabled children were enjoying being able to chase around on these peddle-less trikes. Meeting in various venues children can build up their stamina, experience movement and enjoy the thrill of competing with each other. “The St Barnabas Church Hall was ideal for this year’s AGM.   Although we would have liked to have seen more General Members, it was nevertheless an enjoyable day.  Our Cream Tea was as popular as ever thanks to our gallant cake making volunteer Helen Stevens – her scones, cupcakes and chocolate brownies were enjoyed by us all. The cream tea format offering luscious home-made cream scones with plump strawberries has proved popular (some years better than others). It has offered a friendly environment in which to listen to a guest speaker and exchange news between parents and Executive Members.
